Ideogram Vector

Ideogram Vector is Ideogram's SVG model, available through two fal endpoints. Text-to-vector generates editable vector graphics from a prompt, optionally guided by reference images. Image-to-vector converts an existing image without a text prompt. Both return SVG files, whereas Ideogram 4.5 generates and edits raster images. The two Vector routes have different controls and prices.

Anvisha's take

Our 23 October 2026 run produced all twelve fixed fixtures at medium quality for $1.92, with generation responses taking 20.2 to 29.8 seconds. The strongest uses were a native SVG logo with a correct wordmark and a four-step infographic with the exact wording. The poster added an unwanted line, and the chart drew seven bars for six months without numeric values. All twelve files contain vector paths, with no embedded raster images; lettering is outlined rather than editable text. Detailed scenes can still be cumbersome: the market contains 1,977 paths. Choose this for scalable graphics, then inspect the result. We have not tested image-to-vector conversion or compared quality tiers.

Is Ideogram Vector free?

The fal endpoints charge per SVG; no free generation allowance is stated on these model pages.

  • •Voyager includes these image routes on Free, using plan credits at provider cost: 13, 16 or 20 credits per generated SVG, 32 for high quality with references, and 10 per conversion.
  • •Provider billing still applies when using your own fal key.

What we noticed running Ideogram Vector

  • •The black-on-white chain-and-spoke logo spells Spoke & Chain correctly, without an extra tagline. Its SVG has 37 paths and no embedded raster image or live text. See the logo mark picture.
  • •All three requested lines are legible, but an unwanted SUD IMERA line appears above the title. The result also lacks the requested grainy risograph texture. See the text in an image picture.
  • •The chart has seven bars for six month labels and omits numeric values and a numbered vertical scale. Do not use it as a faithful rendering of the supplied data. See the chart picture.
  • •The title and all four numbered steps match the prompt, each with an icon. The lettering is outlined paths, so changing the wording requires replacing or editing shapes. See the infographic with steps picture.
  • •The reference-guided text-to-vector request used a WebP preview of our original SVG. It changed the dripper to green and the existing right handle to brass, while keeping the white background and composition close. This is not a test of the separate prompt-free image-to-vector endpoint. See the edit an existing image picture.
  • •The endpoint does not offer 21:9, so our request used 2:1. The result leaves the left side clear for copy. See the wide aspect ratio picture.
  • •The market includes striped stalls, oranges, shoppers, a dog and a guitarist, but the SVG contains 1,977 paths. Vector output alone does not guarantee a small or convenient editing structure. See the busy scene picture.
  • •The pencil, book and apple are on the requested sides of the glass, but the glass has more than three ice shapes. See the hard composition picture.
  • •The photography prompt produced a flat vector illustration with a handle, rather than a catalogue photograph. The face and food prompts also became illustrations. See the product on white picture.
  • •The separate observatory hero adds a fourth star even though its prompt asks for three. Count small decorative elements before using a result.

Frequently asked questions

Does Ideogram Vector output real SVG files?

Yes. All twelve outputs in our 23 October 2026 text-to-vector fixture run are SVG files containing vector paths and no embedded raster images. Lettering is outlined, not live text. Complexity varies: the logo has 37 paths and the market 1,977. We have not tested conversion through image-to-vector.

How much does Ideogram Vector cost?

On fal, text-to-vector costs $0.13, $0.16 or $0.20 per SVG at low, medium or high quality. High quality with reference images costs $0.32. Image-to-vector costs $0.10 in either mode. Each output in a generation batch is charged separately.

Can I convert an image without writing a prompt?

Yes. Use image-to-vector with image_url and optionally mode. The supported inputs are JPEG, PNG and WebP up to 50 MB. The text-to-vector endpoint instead requires a prompt and accepts optional image_urls as references.

Have you tested Ideogram Vector against other vector models?

We ran the same twelve prompts used on the image-model reference at medium quality on 23 October 2026, including one reference-guided edit. The logo and infographic were useful native SVG results; the chart and poster had visible errors. We have not run a dedicated vector-model comparison, compared quality tiers or tested the image-to-vector endpoint.

How this page is made

Prices, limits and settings are read from the linked vendor and host pages on the dates shown. Every picture was generated by us through fal with the request shown under it, and the original files are kept unedited. A generation that failed is shown as a failure. Model and vendor names are used to identify the products; no vendor imagery appears on this page.
