Krea 3 vs Krea 2 Large
Krea 3 is the model Krea released on 15 October 2026 and made the default in its app; Krea 2 Large is the larger hosted Krea 2 model. Both ran the same twelve prompts through fal: Krea 2 Large on 18 September at its fixed ratios, Krea 3 on 22 October at 2K.

Which to use
Krea 3 for almost everything. It follows the prompt where Krea 2 Large interprets it: our market is a photograph rather than an illustration, the infographic's headings are spelled right where Large wrote 'Rinse the frfter', the poster is a typographic layout rather than a portrait with a small title, and the dripper has a handle on a base. It can also edit, which Krea 2 cannot on fal, and its edit left the shot alone. Both scrambled the chart's axis while printing the right values. Krea 3 costs more and was not faster: $0.075 to $0.10 for a 2K image at $0.025 a megapixel, against a flat $0.06 for Large, read on 22 October and 18 September 2026, and 24 to 55 seconds against 25 to 47. Stay on Krea 2 for style references, moodboards and LoRAs, which Krea 3 does not support yet. One run per prompt is a fair first look, not a ranking.

›What we asked for
A lighthouse on a rocky cliff during a storm, in the style of a Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock print, with visible wood grain texture, flat colour areas and a bokashi gradient sky.

›What we asked for
A clean bar chart titled 'Monthly active users' showing six months, January through June, with the values 120, 150, 180, 170, 220 and 260, labelled axes, white background, one accent colour, no 3D effects.

›What we asked for
Change the coffee dripper to a deep forest green and add a small brass handle on its right side. Keep the background, lighting and composition exactly as they are.
Frequently asked questions
Is Krea 3 better than Krea 2?
On our twelve prompts it followed instructions more closely, made better photographs and could edit. Krea 2 keeps style references and LoRAs, which Krea recommends it for.
Which is cheaper?
Krea 2 Large is a flat $0.06 an image on fal without style references. Krea 3 is $0.025 a megapixel, so about $0.025 at 1024 square and $0.10 at 2048 square.
Were both run the same way?
Same prompts, one attempt each, through fal. Krea 2 Large takes fixed ratios, so its 3:4 and 21:9 images are 2:3 and 2.35:1; Krea 3 ran at our 2K sizes. Krea 2 Large's food request failed at the connection and returned nothing.
