FLORA AI pricing: plans, seats and when annual billing saves money

FLORA costs $18, $50 or $200 a seat a month, each with the same dollars of usage (October 2026). What that buys in model runs, team pooling, overage, the free tier and annual break-evens.

Line chart of what one FLORA seat costs per month on annual billing against monthly generation spend at FLORA model rates: Starter at $14.40 for $18 of usage, Pro at $40 for $50 and Max at $160 for $200, with overage at the same rates. Pro and Starter break even at $43.60 of spend and Max and Pro at $170. A dashed line shows monthly billing, where cost is the plan price or your spend, whichever is higher.

FLORA costs $18, $50 or $200 per seat per month for Starter, Pro or Max on monthly billing. Each seat adds the same dollars of monthly generation usage to a shared pool. Quarterly billing discounts the subscription by 10%; annual billing discounts it by 20%, without reducing the allowance. Free provides $2.50 once for text and images (FLORA pricing, billing guide).

The short version: Start with the features you need. At a fixed seat count, upgrading a monthly plan cannot make the same generations cheaper because overage uses the same model rates. For steady usage on annual billing, Pro becomes cheaper than Starter above $43.60 of generation spend per seat per month; Max beats Pro above $170. Seasonal workloads need a month-by-month calculation.

We read FLORA's public plan cards, all three billing toggles and the documentation linked below on 29 October 2026. Voyager, the desktop app our team builds, competes with FLORA. All prices are USD before applicable tax. The budgets and examples are calculations from published tariffs, not invoices or measured production costs.

The opening chart was prepared on 20 October; its prices and break-evens still match the sources read on 29 October. Open the full-size chart.

Check the timeline limit before choosing Starter

The Timeline Editor has separate output limits:

PlanLongest renderMaximum resolutionAspect-ratio condition
Starter60 seconds1080pPro is required for vertical/portrait
Pro120 seconds1080pAll aspect ratios
Max5 minutes4KAll aspect ratios

These limits were read 29 October 2026. Rendering is metered by length and resolution, on top of generating the source clips. Editing and previewing are free, as is exporting an EDL, XML or FCPXML bundle with source media on a paid plan. If you finish a vertical cut inside FLORA, budget for Pro; if you finish elsewhere, check the exported bundle in your target editor before upgrading for render features.

App Mode turns a saved Technique into a form of inputs: Starter is for personal use, Pro adds team use. Fashion Studio is included on every plan but its runs consume usage; FAUNA's chat interactions are free, while generated media consumes the pool (pricing, pricing announcement).

What the generation allowance buys

Every paid tier uses the same published model rates. These examples use FLORA's model table and parameter breakdown, read 29 October 2026, at the settings shown. Nano Banana 2 has web search off. Counts round down and assume the whole allowance goes to that one model.

Model and settingsCost per runFree ($2.50 once)Starter ($18)Pro ($50)Max ($200)
Nano Banana 2, 1K$0.0803312246222,490
Nano Banana 2, 4K$0.1799131002771,111
Nano Banana Pro, 1K or 2K$0.18131002771,111
GPT Image 2, 1K, high quality$0.2635968189759

Veo 3.1 Fast, 720p, 8 seconds$1.44Not included1234138
Veo 3.1, 720p, 8 seconds$3.84Not included41352

Starter therefore covers four Veo 3.1 clips or 17 five-second Seedance 2.0 clips at these settings. Resolution and duration change the bill: Kling 3.0 Pro at 1080p costs $1.41 for 10 seconds and $2.12 for 15; Seedance 2.0 at 1080p costs $2.38 for five seconds (parameter pricing). Failed generations deduct nothing; completed attempts you reject still consume usage (FAQ).

FLORA's promise of no overage markup means included and additional usage have the same tariff. It does not promise provider-direct pricing. Its five-second Gen-4.5 rate is $0.7202, versus $0.60 on Runway's API (12 credits/second at $0.01/credit). Five-second 720p Seedance 2.0 is $1.0584 on FLORA, versus about $1.52 at fal's published $0.3034/second audio-inclusive rate. Those are tariffs read 29 October, not equivalent-output tests: FLORA's rows do not specify every setting, including audio. For model selection and provider prices, use the AI model reference.

When a bigger plan saves money

With overage enabled, no extra-usage balance and a fixed seat count, monthly billing costs the subscription or generation spend, whichever is higher. At $120 of generations on one seat, Starter and Pro each cost $120; Max costs $200. A higher monthly tier buys features and a higher minimum, not cheaper usage (billing rules).

Annual billing changes that arithmetic. For each month, add the prepaid subscription's monthly equivalent to any spend above the included allowance:

Steady monthly spend per seatCheapest annual tierMonthly equivalent including overage
Up to $18Starter$14.40
$18 to $43.60StarterSpend minus $3.60
$43.60 to $170Pro$40, plus spend above $50
Over $170Max$160, plus spend above $200

At the boundaries, adjacent tiers tie. Annual Starter above its allowance costs spend minus $3.60, so Pro's $40 wins above $43.60. Annual Pro above its allowance costs spend minus $10, so Max's $160 wins above $170. Quarterly crossovers are $46.80 and $185. These calculations use the current discounts and unchanged monthly allowances, read 29 October 2026.

Three qualifications matter:

  • Divide total workspace spend by seats. Pooling makes the annual Pro crossover $130.80 for three seats and the Max crossover $510, whoever generates.
  • Calculate each month separately. Allowance expires monthly even on prepaid plans. Six months at $100 and six at zero average $50, yet cost $708 on monthly Starter versus $780 on annual Pro. Quiet-month allowance cannot fund a busy month (rollover FAQ).
  • An assigned prepaid seat can absorb overage for less. Another annual Pro seat costs $480 for the year and adds $50 each month. It saves money only if the overage it absorbs totals more than $480, up to $120 saved per full year. For steady overage, the crossover is $40 a month. Do not assume an unassigned seat contributes allowance: the docs do not settle that detail. Self-serve still has an eight-seat limit (seats).

Prepayment also commits cash: three annual Pro seats are $1,440 up front, versus $405 each quarter. Payments are non-refundable unless FLORA approves an exception, and unused time is not refunded. Upgrades take effect immediately with proration and the new monthly budget; downgrades wait until the cycle ends (subscription management). We would start monthly if the workload is uncertain, inspect Usage History, then prepay for a tier the actual months support.

Four example budgets for a year

These are hypothetical workloads, not recorded runs. All attempts count as completed generations, overage is enabled, and there is no extra-usage balance. Totals use the exact rates above before rounding; they exclude timeline renders and tax.

The studio assumes three editors and a producer who can take the fourth editor seat. Four annual Pro seats cost $1,920 up front plus about $42.69 overage each month. Three seats leave about $92.69 of monthly overage, so the fourth seat saves $120 across the year. A producer who only reviews could instead remain a guest; the extra seat is an economic choice under this workload, not a requirement for feedback.

Seats, guests and the November deadline

Pay for editors, not everyone who reviews the work. A guest is view-only; demoting an editor to guest frees their seat without reducing the subscription. Someone from another FLORA workspace can collaborate using their own workspace's generation pool (workspace roles, seat cycling and external collaborators).

Per-member caps require Pro or Max according to the pricing table. The workspace docs describe caps without naming a tier; we follow the explicit feature comparison. Confirm this before purchasing Starter for a team that needs individual spending limits. Usage History records costs by generation, project and member and supports CSV export (subscription docs).

Migrated teams: check legacy contributors before 5 November 2026. The current FAQ, read 29 October, still sets that date for monthly workspaces migrated in May. Annual workspaces' grace ends at their first renewal after 5 May 2026. After the grace period, legacy contributors need paid seats to keep editing; each new seat converts a legacy contributor before it can be assigned to someone new. Teams migrated from Pro per-seat, Agency Standard or Agency Elite are excluded. A monthly Pro workspace with one paid editor and three legacy contributors would rise from $50 to $200 if all four remain editors.

Two seat questions remain undocumented: whether a billing-only admin needs a self-serve seat, and when a reduction in purchased seats takes effect. Enterprise admins use a seat, but its organization rules do not establish self-serve billing behavior. Ask FLORA before budgeting around either assumption.

Overage: spending limits and card charges

Generations consume monthly allowance first, then persistent extra usage from converted credits, referrals, promotions or support grants. After that, generation stops unless an admin enables Overage in Settings, People & Seats. It is off by default, requires a card for self-serve billing and a cap for the period. Direct top-ups are not offered on self-serve plans (workspace usage, billing guide, FAQ).

Enterprise has a top-up exception. Workspaces without overage can buy one-time top-ups of $100 to $5,000 by card through a billing admin in People & Seats. Contract-only customers request credits through sales instead. Enterprise auto top-up is unavailable (Enterprise billing guide, read 29 October 2026).

On self-serve plans, your card can be charged before renewal. FLORA collects when any of these thresholds is met:

  1. Total period overage reaches your cap; further overage stops.
  2. Unpaid overage reaches $200.
  3. Unpaid overage reaches the workspace's monthly subscription total, using a monthly equivalent for annual plans.
  4. A daily check, around 8:15 a.m. UTC, finds more than $5 unpaid.

Source: self-serve billing thresholds, read 29 October 2026. Multiple charges can occur in a period. Paying one does not reset the cap.

On monthly billing with fixed seats, subscription plus the cap bounds the month's charge. Confirm the cap period before prepaying: the docs say only subscription renewal resets its tally, but do not resolve whether the monthly allowance reset also resets overage on quarterly or annual subscriptions. Do not treat those caps as monthly guarantees without confirmation.

Frequently asked questions

Is FLORA free for client work? Its terms, read 29 October 2026, limit unpaid use to your own internal purposes, excluding work for third parties. The free plan is for exploration, not a client-production budget.

Why does FLORA say 17 free generations? The pricing footnote assumes $0.151 per Nano Banana 2 image and caps total usage at $2.50. That division is about 16.6, rounded to the advertised estimate. Actual counts depend on settings: the tariff table above gives 31 at 1K or 13 at 4K. The grant is once, not monthly. Free accounts can also spend that grant through FLORA MCP; ongoing programmatic generation requires Starter.

Does FLORA still use credits? It switched to dollars on 5 May 2026, converting 1,000 credits to $1 of non-expiring balance (announcement). Some API fields retain older credit terminology (MCP billing docs).

Can I cancel? Yes, through the Stripe portal under People & Seats, Manage & Invoices. Access continues until the period ends; cancellation does not refund unused time, and other refunds require FLORA's approval (subscription management).

Is there an education offer? The education page, read 29 October 2026, offers students three months of Pro free by application with a .edu email or bootcamp-enrollment proof. Professors can apply for discounted plans with unlimited editor seats for a class; no fixed professor discount is published.
